Elevate

Excerpted from “The Sacred Dictionary,” which highlights the living meaning carried by a single word

“I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of humans to elevate their lives by consious endeavor.” - Henry David Thoreau

elevate (Latin) elevare = to lift up, raise

é- = out + levare = to lighten, raise, from levis, ‘light’

All of us were raised by someone, but those who were born into generational trauma were rarely elevated.  Every child deserves to be raised in Light. Ideally a parent helps their offspring rise to life’s occasions; yet with traumatized parents who have lost touch with their own Light,  the already daunting challenge to elevate another human being  becomes elusive.

And while not all human beings are raised or elevated,  they grow up anyway.  Nature obliges. How we’re brought up includes what we’re taught in addition to what we aren’t.  Few of us were taught that Light is our birth-rite. Some of us were repeatedly put down and stayed where we were left, stuck in an ongoing upbringing that brought our right to exist into question, later reaching for relationships that confirmed the worst.  Others osmotically learned not to lower their guard, indiscriminately guarding the gates to new experiences.

Whether you were raised or reared, it is always possible to welcome your Light!  You can raise your awareness and lower the expectation that the rest of the world unfurls according to your childhood interpretations, which often negate your Innate Greatness. By  allowing a revision of your historical perspective, you can transcend and mend the ways in which you’ve seen yourself through wounded eyes,

From here on up, you can make a decision to envision a life of Love.   The way we choose to raise ourSelves is not about the extent of the height but the allowance of our Light.
